THE AIMS AND OBJECTS OF DELHI URBAN GREENS:
- To monitor existing green cover in the city (urban forests, large parks, gardens of all sizes, avenue trees)
- To monitor activities that are harmful to green cover ( construction activities of various kinds) and to take up such issues with government
- To conduct tree surveys in colonies with the help of residents by using the Rapid Tree Survey format
- To strengthen provisions of the Delhi Preservation Of Trees Act
- To highlight urban green issues in the media
- To conduct survival of compensatory plantation by different agencies
- To file cases in Courts for getting relief for urban greens
- To conduct programmes in schools and colleges on urban green issues
- To popularize park designs that enhance biodiversity values ( especially bird species)
