Environment Education
| "Forests Alive!" An Environmental handbook for teachers in Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary, Karnataka A joint publication by ATREE, VGKK and Kalpavriksh As part of the programme, “Forests Alive!” a Handbook for teachers was developed which explores a range of issues that are relevant to the lives of the Soligas within the BRT wildlife sanctuary. It also has a number of activities that the teachers could use to help children become more aware, sensitive, and proud of their culture and natural heritage. The content of the Handbook was discussed in a workshop with the teachers of the school, where decisions were also taken as to what topics would be dealt with at each level. This
Environmental Handbook was created for teachers of the Vivekananda
Girijana Kalyana Kendra (VGKK) School, located within the sanctuary. It
is intended to help them, and other educators, create a more effective
learning process in environmental education (EE) and “learning for
life.” |
