Activities of the Urban Greens Campaign
Outreach with
Schools in Delhi: We are in the process of contacting schools
to facilitate interactions with students on trees and greens. The idea
is to use slide presentation and try to make the students aware of the
importance of greens, and what is the current status of green in the
city. Through these sessions Kalpavriksh also hopes to discuss with
students, on how can make they make their school neighborhood greener.
The overall motive of presentation is to make the young minds more aware
and accountable to environment. The school outreach also intends using
street plays in partnership with other groups in Delhi. The recurring
theme would be urban trees.
Outreach with Residential Welfare Association (RWA) Activity: We have identified some neighborhood RWAs for this; in order to involve common citizens in the urban greens issues as it is something that affects everyone. The role of RWAs can be crucial to target indiscriminate tiling of pavements, issue of parks and so on.
