Malnad Home Garden and Seed Exchange Collective

Theme:Conservation and Livelihoods,Biodiversity

Task: Internship for research, documentation and writing, field visits, practical work on the farm in the nursery, vegetable garden, tree planting, earth work, seed sorting and packing, or manual work, specific help with festivals or workshops, and any other specific tasks that the intern has taken on

Paid/ Unpaid: UNPaid - Accomodation will be arranged on the farm and in homestays. Interns must pay a monthly amount to cover costs for the room and board and expenses to the organization. The total cost per month of stay is approximately $450.
Duration: Three to Six months

Resources/Comments: The program fee includes tuition, internship site development and placement, pre-departure orientation, internship monitoring and follow-up.

Monthly living costs (boarding, lodging, laundry service, weekend homestays, 30 minutes of internet time 3 times a week, Helping her/him learn and execute the work taken on, some amount of local travel, overheads to the collective or associated NGO, and other sundry expenses. Food will be simple, mostly vegetarian food with sea food once or twice a week depending on season and availability.
