  • Conceptual and advocacy work on more effective, democratic forms of conservation in India
  • Field documentation and research at several sites
  • Legal and policy analysis, advocacy, and outreach
  • Pioneering the concept of Community Conserved Areas in South Asia and the world
  • Networking with organizations and individuals across the world on C&L issues
  • Facilitating communities to further their conservation efforts
  • Leading a process of ‘building bridges’ between conservation and human rights advocates
  • Coordinating the ‘Future of Conservation’ network in India
  • Creating and disseminating briefing and guidance materials including newsletters
